Default Had a scare last night.

Just rode my bike back from Rome, NY to Kunkletown.
I got almost all the way home, was on a back road near the Pocono Raceway following a Ford Explorer a little to closely I guess.
I was leaning into a left turn and was in the center of my lane when ut from under the Explorer is a softball sized rock.[sm=wtf.gif]

I stood it up in mid turn and had my 1000rr bounce off it with first the front then the back tire on the left side of the tires. Then the bike had headshake and I let off the throttle.

Luckily I was in a low gear and the bike slowed down and I made my turn before going off roading.

Wouldn't you know it just about home a rabbit shoots from my right to my left in front of me sees a car coming and darts back in front of me. I slammed on my brakes and thought I would slide over him (Her) but luckily I missed.

WTF!!! Two near misses in one day, on one ride, and hours after I insured and registered my bikes in PA.

Default RE: Had a scare last night.

count your blessings.. you were very lucky.
i had something similar happen a few years back, i was ridding thrue boston ma. i had just come out of the tunnel
and ther were a car load of girls in front of me checking me out and flirting, all of a sudden i saw one girls face (she was in total horror) the car in front of me straddled what appeared to be a very large piece of a dinning room table midle lane heavy but moveing
traffic. my reflexes took over and i have no clue how i missed it, if i had clipped that i would of been dead run over by multiple cars at 60 mph. just goes to show at any time anything can happen.. make sure your always looking it only takes about a half second.
well glad you didn't loose it stay alert.
