getting sick of this weather
Even if the roads are dry (and melting ice piles ensure a nice slick spot on every street) the dust from all the sand / salt makes Philly treacherous right now.
Some streets there are tire trails in the crap

Yeah, we've been having some non-freezing rain these last few days that has washed away a lot of the salt and sand. Once the spring showers hit I'll be getting to the mountain roads, for now highway riding has been giving me small enough doses of my riding fix to get me through the week.
I'm confident I can handle just wet roads. Done it before (just have to remember everything), had to deal with a wet parking lot during the BRC. The salt and sand give me a bit of pause. But Philly has all that and...
The wonky temps + moisture has caused major potholes everywhere. Couple I know of can swallow a tire on my work E-350 (from experience). The city is 'cold patching' them based on how much the residents scream (and how much those residents are worth). But anything that can knock around my work van and full sized trucks like a toy will flip a bike no problem.
The trolley tracks are my nemesis. They dropped me last year in the wet. They're all over the city. And they run right down the clearest parts of the street.
Too big a risk for me right now. Seen guys out there on their bikes but not gonna be me

- Trolley (street car) tracks

Yesterday and today I decided to ride to work. It's been just above freezing temps both morning. Blisteringly cold when moving, both my hands were red because my gloves aren't cold weather gloves and now I've got a sore throat. However, the sun's shining now and I can't wait to hit it a bit right after work. Yesterday, the weatherman promised me a sunny afternoon and I ended up having to ride home in a drizzle. I've been doing a lot of that, rushing out of bed as soon as I wake up to check outside the window to see how dry the roads are like as if it's Christmas morning lately. *sigh*
I know the mountain roads aren't going anywhere, but damn, I wanna lean this bike god damnit!

ha ha i know what you mean. i feel like a little kid cause everytime it does snow or isnt warm i get all pissed off and start to pout ha ha. ol' lady hates it. but then she gives me some milk and chocolate chip cookies and it eases the pain a bit.
Milk and cookies as consolation? Damn, all I get is having to take the bus to work. Maybe I should stock up on some milk n' cookies for this next week.
