Default Getting better at wheelies

Not that I measure good riders and bad riders by how long and far they can wheelie.

(Some of the best road racers in the world can't wheelie for ****.)

But, I have been doing some wheelies...for what reason...I dunno...and can now get a good 1st to 2nd gear, 50-75 yard, smooth let
off wheelie pretty consistently.

Have not wheelied this well since the wheelie at will, bicycle days.

Jeez...I think I better quit while I am ahead. Next thing I'll be doing is stoppies. (Have never done one of those.)

I can only whellie off the line for 20 feet or so (never on street, onlypracticed in parking lots). I actually learned this on my old ninja 250. I just kept revving it up and dumping the clutch (idea came from a hilarous drag strip daywith the bike;15.82 et lol!) until i found the right rpm range to pull the front wheel up, then i would just roll on the throttle as it comes down to set it down smoothly. Funny thing was, that old 250 needed like 7 grand on the tach before it would even think of putting the front tire in the air! If I did that with thebike I have now, I'd probably flip it! I don't remember what rpm range is the sweet spot for my F2, but I remember it being considerably lower.

They are addicting huh? Me and a buddie take our dirt bikes out every weekend. Before we stop to take a break we do wheelies and this past weekend I started doing stoppies! Front end likes to dive from the dirt. Scares me a little. Have fun with them and be safe!

i dont think id be up for stoppies on a dirt bike, soft ground is not cool for stoppies.

When I went to Supercross this year alot of the riders were doing them during the intro. They were doing them up and down the whole straightaway.

Dirt wheelies don't count. Back in the day, a good 2-STROKE...(THE GOD OF ENGINE DESIGN), 250 would wheelie naturally.

All part of riding hard in the dirt.

I'm talking about 300+ pounds of expensive bodywork on hard pavement. Hehe.
