Default wheelies in 2nd

I can get my bike to lift up in 2nd by getting the RPM's up and then hitting the gas is there a way without dropping the clutch

Im sure it can be done without the clutch, but using the clutch is the way you SHOULD be doing it.

+1. The clutch is easier to control, but...

...you can get it up by accelerating, cutting back on the gas and then quickly accelerating hard again. You only let off of the gas enough to compress the front suspension a little. This has to be a very quick motion, but IMHO, this is harder to control and can lead to mistakes/crashes.

I tried to get it to lift by dropping the clutch but it just lunges forward. I know I need to find a BP but I'm also nervous and that doesn't help is there anything else I can do to find the BP?

BP is balance point, you are a long ways away from that my friend. When you say dropping the clutch you make it sound like you are pulling it in (way too far prolly) and then letting it snap out. That is wrong. You just need to pull it in slightly till the rpm's rise up, then quickly release it, dont just let it snap out though. Check youtube, there are some good vids there on learning how to wheelie.

Thanks I think that's my problem I will check utube out tonight. I know this is easier than I'm making it out to be. I'm just worried about flipping it. What should I search on utube?

learn to wheelie, how to wheelie, wheelie instructions. As posted in your other thread, just take your time, wear your gear, and keep practicing at it, its the only way to get better.

Also maybe will help ya a bit too, go to the post i just made in this section called "tiny vid" and watch the vid i posted of myself. I didnt put any music in and on the first wheelie i clutched it up very near the camera, so you can listen really clearly what it sounds like when i do it. Maybe it will help give you an idea anyhow.

use the clutch russ. and stay in first so you have engine brake to bring you down. cover the rear brake with foot just to make it a habit and eventually start tapping it to get feel for it. bp is a lot further back then you think. have someone (maybe me) take video so you know where you are. hopefully i have an f4i or 600rr to ride with ya soon again. i might be tuck with 900 for a few weeks
