Sorry to hear about that. May he R.I.P. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Remember everyone to wear your gear and there is a time and place for everything.

everytime I start my bike I think about this

thing is all the gear in the world wouldnt have saved him
his helmet shattered and his head slammed into the pole at over 100mph

this has def changed my whole outlook on life in general

plz be careful and use common sense!

My condolences bro! My boy wreck on his gxr750 and is now a quad (can't move anything from shoulders down). I was NEVER going to get a bike or ride one but realized as long as i know my limits i should be fine (took a looong time to come to that conclusion). I talked to him alot about the whole thing and he gave insight on why it happend and basically he said he was going too fast and didn't respect the bike or his limits. I have vowed not to be like that. Every time i get on my bike i think of him my license plate says "riding for jake" cuz I'm on two now that he can't and wont make the same mistake( or at least try to the utmost of my ability) as he did. We cannot control everything that happends to us or our freinds and like you said no matter how much amour you can have wont help. A semi make cut over and not even see ya and run ya down. who's falt is that? I'd like to think that everyone on two wheels knows that it's them against the road each time they're out and should act appropiatlly. KEEP UP BRO!

I so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Just the other day I hit speeds of 120mph going up the Pallisades Parkway. I know sometimes being on a motorcycle makes you feel invulnerable... Your friend is in our prayers.

I will definitely take a step back now. This defintely puts things in perspective, especially since I have a family as well.

Please be safe everyone.
