So I thought I would share this with everyone and how I almost died after I got off work tonight. It was an early night at the shop and it was the first timeI have gotten off work at eight in a loooong time. A friend of mine ask for a quick ride so I told her I would go around the block but thats it. I hate giving rides out just for the fact if something happened to the other person I would feel horrible. So as I was turning onto the street where my work was I got stopped by a red light turning left. Ok now it turns green and I start to go and I always look both ways to make sure all the cars actually stopped. I look right look left and then go a little more and I look left again and here comes a car like a bat out of hell through the red light at like 65 MPH. I instantly pull the front brake really hard. The rear end flys in the air like a stoppie and when it comes back down I couldnt hold it up cause there was someone on the back. Well she jumps off before it falls and i tried to set it down but it just fell. I look and the ****ing car just keeps going and didnt even hesitate or brake at all. Well needless to say my first instinct was to make sure she was ok and then make sure my really baby wasnt to hurt.

There was a guy who was at the light with me and stopped gave me his number and told him he would be a witness. Another guy was to the left of me and I asked him right away to follow the guy and he did. I dont know if he caught up with him or not cause they didnt come back but im hoping they call the cops with the plate number. The only thing I could tell the cops was the make and model of the car, which does me nothing. Needless to say I was a half a foot from being killed. The only damage my bike has is the brake rear set. I had frame sliders and that took the whole impact so no fairings were strached. So if anyone knows where I can get one let me know.

Just a heads up to everyone, I know 99% of the time there wont be anyone running the red light. But I made a habit to always look both way through an intersection and thats what saved our lives. Keep a heads up and be safe!

 

Glad to see you didn't have a collision. People are just oblivious around here man. Either that or they just have no respect...regardless of whether your on a bike or in the car for that matter!

 

Yea it was just insane and scared the **** outta me. And now im pissed cause I have to pay for the damage. Just two weeks ago too some ******* stole my gloves from my bike.

 

that happened to me in my cage the other day. i was at a light in a pretty busy city. when i pulled up to the light i changed the song on my ipod so i forgot to put it in first. light went green. i tried to go (uphill start) and bogged, so i dropped the i-pod... it was just in my hand, shifted to first, then went, and after i moved like 5 feet some *** hat 16 y/o in his accord blasted through the intersection. if i had been in first and ready to go... i would have gotten CLOCKED!

Friggin idiots that cant even drive a car! Lets hope they stay away from motorcycles lol

dude i hate drivers. being t boned is my biggest fear. THIS, new riders, is why we say you need to take it slow cuz an unexperienced rider might not be able to make a reaction quick enough. thank god your a good rider fitz it would suck to find out that your not on here anymore cuz you were dead.

 

Yea simply insane. I look over and see head lights and instantly pull the brake. I know they tell you not to panic and grab brake, but in this situation its all I could to so we couldnt get t boned. Luckily all I have to replace is the frame slider and rear brake pedal. You guys know if I can just buy the pedal and not the whole rear set?

 

Will an '07 pedal work? I have an extra one laying around
