Fatal Motorcycle Crash


A motorcycle accident Saturday night in northwestern Sioux Falls has turned deadly. It happened near 60th Street and La Mesa Drive before midnight Saturday.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 22 year-old Dustin Kleinsasser of Sioux Falls died Sunday afternoon at Sioux Valley Hospital.

Investigators say Kleinsasser was riding with a group of motorcyclists going south from the Crooks area when he apparently didn't see a stop sign, skidded through the intersection onto a gravel road, and lost control of his motorcycle. Investigators say he slid about 100 feet and wasn't wearing a helmet.

Officials say it does not appear alcohol or speed were factors in the accident.

Damn man, that sucks. I am sorry for your loss. This is a reminder to wear your helmet. I imagine he died of some kind of head injury. Sorry again. I know I don't always wear mine and a story like this is a slap in the face that I need to wear it all the time. Something can go wrong any time at any speed.....

Very sorry to hear that had to happen to your best friend. I agree with josho66 that it's a definite reminder to wear your helmet.

 

Condolences. Unfortunately a friend of mine also lost a buddy in a similar accident over 4th of July. A helmet was conspicuously absent in that accident as well.
