How about Exhausted Topics lol
haha...tru dat.

A name change is certainly due, what with all the new direction to stay on topic in the off topic forum.
Shoort ... the ability to change the name of the individual area might work. Or it could send us straight to internet hell. I have been promising a forum upgrade for 6 months (you mentioned that somewhere else) and I am still promising it. But there are no excuses. I can only relay updates as I get them. The geeks are working hard on it and everything was going smoothe until the last forum went **** up. So a halt was ordered and we wait. Believe I have been more than upfront about the upgrade and will continue to do so.
Maybe if you quit calling em GEEKS they might fix it

Just so the rest of you know, I did not write that nor do I appreciate being intentionally misquoted in the forum. A temporary ban will be imposed on ANY member who misquotes people.

My guess is those Gods are being paid by the hour and not the job.

But the 'topic' of this forum is CBRs, Off Topic implies that it includes everything else. I am sure a Venn diagram would illustrate this point more clearly, but as stated before, changing the name to 'Other MotorcycleRelated Micellaneous Discussions' may bring down this house of cards, and that would be bad too.

I wonder what the breakdown is with respect to activity in each of the thread catagories (new members, F4i, off topic, etc) and in each of those how many click on a sponsors banner. That is after all what is driving this new found love for motorcycle topics, if not revenue, then sale price. These forums are not created to entertain the owner, they exist to generate money for the owner. If this recent clampdown is just due to too many annoying PMs by members, then those offending members would simply get banned or suspended or at least just ignored. Isn't there a block function, what does that thing do? I have been afraid to use it because it might start a chain of events that could be catastrophic. It would be easier and risk lessill will than deleting/locking harmless egg threads or who lost what job or why guns give me a stiffy or why my meatballs are amazing. Also,If post whoring is sucha problem, then set a minimum number of keystrokes to slow that problem.

So I will go with my initial reaction and say 'follow the money' and after that it all falls into place.

Really, now I am confused.

Then could this all be a diversion like what was cooked up by the mods a few months back, something that was claimed to illuminate how the bickering on this forum was tearing it apart? I recieved a PM from one of the mods trying to drag me into that one.

From one of the mods via PMon 10/27/08

Have you seen that thread where I am just getting roasted? I make a simple request, and then everybody ****s on me. WTF? I feel like nobody has got my back. I am not going to lock it out of spite. I am going to let someone else do it. Sorry for dumping, bro, I saw you were on and wanted to vent. I wish someone would come to my defense already...****. Anyway, see you out there, brudda.

P.S. How is that hot GF of yours that you met while walking past the babysitting place in the mall...hahaha!

I get your drift, ignore this latest diversion, it is wintertime, nobody rides so nobody posts anything of substance, part of the admin/mod function is to generate topics to drive the forum. I still think it is about money, if not then I guess everything I have ever learned is completely wrong.

Okay I have pretty much been on the move over the last week and have stopped by to watched this thing unfold for you long-term members and those of you not so long-term members who over the last six months have felt the need to just weigh in on everything regardless of whether you had an informed opinion or not andthe others who findyourself to be baited into jousting matches where exhorted ego and impetuous vigor has overridden common sense.[/b] So can we all spell responsibility[/b] do you understand the meaning behind the word responsibility. It's no secret, I kick sand at the plate but if I'm told hit the bench or go to the showers I don't grovel or whine about it. I realize I'm responsible for my own mess and have no one to blame but myself. So if things have gotten out of control. Who is ultimately to blame for the disorder. The small staff ? Who have this entire place to police. I don't think so we have a few individuals who are great at pointing fingers at who started what but a very very small group willing to say. Yeah I did it. So am I guilty of contributing to this mess[/u] yes [/b]but hindsight is useless at this point because of the situation is out of control. The situation has become so blurred it's hard to see who actually is a instigator[/b] and who is a victim when societies are placed in martial law true culprits at hand always rise to the surface so let's see what happens

oh dear god.... This is rediculous. Can't we all just get along?? Respect the admins decision. If the site goes to hell quicker than it already has been from worthless posts then things might change again. Personally i think it is a good idea so i dont get more retarded reading some of the stuff that is posted in here.
