Ever told to move up to liter?
i would imagine theoretically that if you had two riders on the same exact level of skill same tires one 600 and one 1000 the 1000 would take the 600. i would think through a turn a rider of equal skill would be able to take the turn at the same speed on either bike. the diffrence would be as you could out of the turn the power of the 1000 would take the 600. no road or race track is all turns there are slight strait always and in them the 1000 would walk away from the 600.
I have a good friend, we'll call him MR. Yuk (Kawi guy), he had a favorite saying, and for the purpose of quoteing, I'm not going to censor myself:
"silly ******, six are for chicks"-his favorite byline. Now he rides a '98 ZX-7R which puts him right in the middle of this age-old question, but when I bought my '03 600RR he took it for a ride and came back grinning ear to ear, "It'll do 145 in fifth and I still had one gear to go! The thing is so flickable though, you'll never get bored with this bike". I haven't heard him utterhis byline since that day. Now you may think: yeah a '98 anything vs. an'03 anything, but let me tell you his bike is BUILT, nuff said.
The bottom line here is that MR. Yuk is built like me: 5'8' and 150ish lbs. the 600RR is more than adequate for any type of riding I shall ever wish to do, (love the twisties, and no, I'm not really into going 180[let's be realistic] in a straight line). Another friend of mine (6'2" 235lbs) told me he wanted to get a 600RR, and I suggested he opt for the 1000RR, based on nothing more than his stature.
I will never own a literbike,it's just simply more than I need. (now some will say, I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it, but I absolutely don't need it). I know guys my size that also have literbikes, and truth be told, sometimes I get the impression that they are wrestling rather than riding, and how much fun is that, just to be able to say you ride a 1K? Don't ever let your ego get in the way of good judgement, or they'll pick you up off the road with a spatula.

I never understood why just cause someone is bigger (taller or heavier) they think they need a 1k. Looks at the specs (seating positions, etc..) they really arent that much different.
Yes, I've been told many times that I should "get a real bike" because it was a 600. It's usually people who don't know s**t are the ones saying that stuff though........you could never ride a 600 to it's fullest on the street anyway........and you wouldn't have a hope in hell of ever reaching half of the 1000's potential on the street......so what's the point?
Being a ninja 250 owner I've countless idiots tell me to "man up." Even people that dont ride or wouldn't know a single part on a motorcycle.
Even having an 800cc now I get an idiot or two from time to time telling me its 1000cc or nothing. Go shove your backward wearing cap (helmet) up your *** then stick your oakley sunglasses up your small pee hole.
Now if honda ever brings out the vfr1000 I might "man up." LOL

I love these threads...really shows just how ignorant most people can be....
Ride what you want to ride!!!1
I love the comments "get a real bike" from the guys on liter bikes......and i especially love how the guys react to it on 600cc bikes....
ITS NOT THE BIKE ITS THE EFFIN RIDER
i ran past many guys on liter bikes on my f4i......but there is a flip side to that.....now that i am on a liter bike.....i ride right past a lot of guys on 600's.......this ****ing argument can go both ways..
ITS NOT A ****ING RACE ON THE STREET......you want to prove yourselfs on your bikes....take it to the track
most of the assclowns who ride 600's on the street and say that liter bikes cant keep up in the canyons are full of ****.......most of the guys who say "get a real bike" are full of ****
get over yourselves.....ride your ride..stop bitching about others riding theirs
