Ever told to move up to liter?
on a side note my 08 1000rr handles better then any 600 i've ridden. maybe it's just me but i like it way better then my roommates 07600RR
i had a 600rr that was fastthrough the corners but went through the gears too quick and reved too high on the highway.my 929 has a stronger engine, longer powerband and is a pleasure to ride for long distances. love being on the 929 but there are times i miss the handling of the 600. So if u can afford it get BOTH.
id like a liter bike to ride every now and than too. id love to get my hands on black 09... id put frame sliders spools and upgrade brakes and call it good. but i dont have a money tree, but i am happy with my 600rr03, and just hope i am lucky enough to be able to get a track bike in a few months.
a guy I worked with wanted an r1 really bad...he'd take any literbike but had never really ridden a full on supersport except for a katana from like 1996 so one day I let him ride my f4 down the rode and back. afterwards he told me "damn, I had no idea." lol, funny thing is he just got a small sample, I don't think he even took it over 10 grand.
people don't realize, even a 10 year old cbr 600s will outrun 99% of the cars on the road, they are plenty fast. my f4 has a power to weight ratio of like .19...for a 3500lb car to come close to that they have to knock on the door of 650hp...ask them why they don't drive a worked svt cobra every day or something....ask why they're car is so "*****" if they think your bike is.
i did ride a hayabusa once but I was too worried about it not being mine to do anything. just cruised and it was quite comfortable...sitting position wise as well as useable power.

I have slaughtered 600Ninjas with a turbo busa in the twisties ... of course my forks and rear suspension weren't stock either. But I had 80 to 100# extra bike weight carrying those corners. What's it prove? I was stupider than they were at that point in time. Do it again? Not a chance in hell. Like my 1kRR and it handles waaaay better than a turbo busa and not disrespectin the 600s in any way. But you guys claiming to beat everthing over 599cc's are full of ****. Perhaps on a mountain twisty that guy on the busa is just chilling out riding within his means. Or that gixxer 750 is enjoying the scenery.
Took me a long time to realize not every public road and idiot that revs his motor is a racing venue. Occasionally I will still lean her over and scrape stuff on the pavement (I've posted my tire pics before [8D]) but I'll be damned if I race anyone but me. Too old for stupid stuff anymore. So come on down to Covington/Conyers and fly by me on your 600 and post that you destroyed a 1kRR with race replica plastic ... I won't argue the point
Back to the OP ... buy what you enjoy, can pay for and afford the insurance

Gee this thread is going strong Gregg
and even you are getting into slaughtering
well.....
did I tell you about the time I dragged a Vet on one wheel at 200MPH

All in all the whole thing about these newer rides 600's and 1000's , is that it really comes down to the rider .. (THATS US !!
)
How skilled you are ..?
How crazzy you are .. ?
How far you will risk crashing your ride .. ?
How scared you are of bending your own head outta shape .. ?
An irresponsible nut case on a good new 600RR can wipe the 1000's off the face in many situations.
A full on mental case on a new 1000RR (no offense Gregg
) will clean up any 600 with an average rider aboard..
Things are pretty even between both these capacity days except for the guy or gal at the controls ..
