What do you guys think about riders who pass other riders they dont know in the same lane? A kid i go to school with was riding home the same way i do in the other lane, and he came up on some guy on a dual sport and just whizzed past him in the same lane. I was a few lengths back and one lane over, and it pisses me off seeing that.

Incase thats a thread jack, back to topic: I usually slide into 2nd position and just nod or BS a bit at a stop light, or if they come up on me i may give them 1st position after a stop, cause i would rather have my eye on other riders, they could be a squid afterall.

yea we (me and my friend) were behind to older guys riding harleys the other day at a light.
they turn left, and we turn left, and as soon as we get on the road, he (my friend)gets in the left lane (it was a four lane road) and guns it passed them real fast and i see them raise their hands saying somethin to eachother and i was just thinking... way to reinforce our show off/squid type behavior on sport bikes. so i just casually pass them going only like 5 mph faster than them and kind of knod, hoping theyll see were not all like that.

When I pass smaller bikes, they generally don't come up next to me at the lights, but the big boys with big toys will pull up alongside, maybe open the visor and exchange a few pleasantries.
I even wave at the little bikes - get a big grin from them and a wave back, generally - makes them feel part of the bigger group, which is good for the future.....

i dont mind that at all. i just hate the akward moments at the traffic light, lol. honestly....ifits a harley i'll slow down so the light will turn green or stay behind them, if its a sportbike, i'll get next to them.

i dont mind people tagging along behind me at all, and i do the same. they're just riding along w/ you . aslong as they keep a safe distance. what irritates me is when people do it and remain too close for comfort or dont stay staggered.

Seems weird you guys...

They're on a bike, you're on a bike - you're at a stoplight together and you're going to stop behind them? I'd think you were quite the pompice ******* if it were me, lol.

Seriously, though. People are people, people like to BS about nothing especially when it's related!

Put it this way - talk to them. If they blow you offdo a wheelie past them and cut them off and bump their front tire with your rear and watch the fun ensue! You're a sissy if ya don't!

I thought if they passed you thats a challenge, you need to go flying past them again, get a little ahead and hit your hazzards

I usually ride a bit behind, if we catch a light i pull up along side and say hiya.

Well put kidcr3nshaw!

Another fun thing to do is if you pull up to a split headlight sportbike, tell them one of their headlights is out! cause they never hear that enough!

my biggest beaf is when people follow you too close while riding, bikes or cars. of course cars are alot worse, but it bothers me when bikes are staggered so close behind you their front tire isn't even behind your rear. its happened to me, and i feel way claustrophobic(sp?) and i get angry.(if its a friend that i trust its not a big deal, but it just freaks me out usually)

Someof the bikes I see in front of me at stop lights are in the middle of the lane. Or just off to the side, but not enough for me to fit. Ive had bikes pull up next to me. I dont mind one bit.
