Easy way to get a DVD on my IPOD??
I just got a new 80G Ipod and I am trying to put a couple of movies on it. I tried some software that I bought and it would only let me load the "first 1000 frames"...WTF is that about?...I paid $30. Anyhow, I am returning that and looking for some advice from someone that knows how to get it done easily. Any help out there?!?!

you can also download a program called dvd decrypt which will rip the dvd to your computer, then use a program called videora ipod converter. both of which are free and work really well. just a warning for you though depending on the length of the movie it could take a couple of hours to complete

I have found the best program to be DVD Fab. http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm . It has quite a few nice options. You need the platinum edition which kinda sucks, but you can use the trial version for quite a while if you dont plan on buying...or downloading a cracked copy...which of course I would never condone such an activity.[sm=yeahsmile.gif]

I cannot STRESS ENOUGH how horrible this program is.......and the customer service, WHAT customer service? When it creates your rips, the audio is off just enough to create bad lip-sync issues (which they won't admit to), they charged me twice (which they didn't admit to, or give me a refund for the "second" one) and their customer support is a very rude person who types in broken english saying stuff like "our computer work, you computer wrong" and crap like that.
Do yourself a favor, save your money.
I have ALL of my DVD's on my iPod, and I didn't pay a cent for the software (and I didn't pirate it either.)
It's a freeware program called "Handbrake".
It used to only be for the Mac, but now they have a version for the PC too. I've converted 300+ DVD's (exception of Click and Casino Royale..........Sony puts some crazy protection stuff on their discs)

You are going to want to download the "Windows GUI 2.40" version.
Enjoy.

Ok, the handbrake wouldn't load on my laptop so I sucked it up and payed the $29 for the "imtoo" from the link mdfirefighter gave me. I figured that since the 5 minute sample was great (and very easy) it would be worth it. The program seems to be working good and my first complete movie (The Matrix)is being converted now. Thanks for the advice!
