Default an easy carb intake mod can be that easy???

My neighbor, who means well, has gotten me excited about a mod he described but did not go into detail. So naturally I thought the folks here would say yay or nay...

he claims that an easy thing to do is remove the tube that sucks in air from the airbox, sucking in recycled, emission safe air and reroute this tube under the seat with a pod filter on it. claims this will run great...

While I'm not too adventurous about ripping my perfectly fine bike apart, i would like to find out more about this mod.

Does anyone know what my friend is saying? is it bs, easy? perhaps there are some key words to help me search..?
thanks much

Glad to see this forum still alive and well

The manual shows two tubes going into the airbox. One is the cylinder head breather and the other supplies air to the ASV assembly on California bikes. The breather will pulse oil vapors into the airstream to be burned and the ASV supplies air to the injection ports near the exhaust pipes. That helps to completely burn leftover gas molecules.

No horse power gains to be had really.
