Default Do all bikes have VIN numbers?

Hi, guys. This might be a silly question, but do all bikes have VIN numbers? I've always thought they did, but I heard that there are some bikes that are strictly for tracking only that don't have VIN numbers and NO title to the bike. Is that true?

VIN should be stamped into the steering neck of the frame.

I would say that ALL bikes except (maybe) Moto GP machines ( which are hardly ever sold)
should have a VIN number. Any bike that doesn't probably has a dubious record somewhere...........

Aussie release models have a VIN plate on the right side of frame, and Noise emissions[91 db @4,500 rpm]plate on the left side ,below the steering head.

I was looking into buying a track bike. It had no title and so I asked for the VIN to verify it was not listed as stolen, he told me it had no VIN and at that point I did not buy the bike.

I have heard of people buying "Blank" frames from the factory. Maybe these frames have no VIN, I am not sure.

I have no problem with buying a bike that has no title as long as I can check the VIN out and make sure it is not listed as stolen. But if the VIN on the bike was ground away( to hide it) or someone wont provide you with it then I would investigate heavily before purchasing or just forget it and look somewhere else.

Anyone who tells you that a bike does not have a VIN# because it's a "track only bike", is probably trying to hide the fact that it's a stolen motorcycle.

Avoid like the plague.

most bikes that dont have vin numbers are used at the track because you dont need a vehicle registration to ride at the track. Insurance maybe tho
