Computer question
I got the idea of this thread from the "post your desktop" thread. I want to find out what programs everybody has on their computer that they recommend others get, or what they believe is a great program. I rarely download anything from the internet but am looking for some good programs and some very helpful programs. For my antiviris I use "Antivir" and I think it is ten times better than Notron and that is the free version. Also I prefer Mozilla Firefox over Internet Explorer. I have also downloaded DVDFab which I have used maybe once.

RE: Computer question
^ +1 to FF and AVG. CCleaner for cleaning along with Tweaknow regcleaner if you do a lot of downloading and deleting of stuff like i do you have to keep your registry clean and CCleaner takes care of cookies bunch of other crap. If you do any overclocking- prime 95, memtest, 3dmark. VLC media player is the absolute best IMO. i have Azureus vuze for torrents, and some other dvd,mp4,blah conversion stuff that i have not used for about 6 months and dont remember what it was. deleted it.

RE: Computer question
AVG FTW!!!
Other good free programs include GIMP, TVersity, WinAmp, TagScanner, FireFox, Google Earth, GMail Notifier, Audicity, VLC Media Player, RealPlayer Alternative, Open Office, Comodo Firewall, etc...
The list goes on and on, and these are just off the top of my head, as I am on my work laptop and don't have access to my home PC right now. There are some GREAT downloads at thefreecountry.com. I use that place all the time when I do computer jobs on the side for people...they always have the right diagnostics utilities that I need.
