WRX guys 'rompin' on LS1 guys? Just a matter of who has more money I suppose, either platform is entirely capable of running faster than anyone would ever need to on the street.

TA deal fell through, I don't buy cars that have been sprayed with a '150 wet shot of naws'.

Nothing for sale around me, and I am not going to settle for an LT1 car at this point. Going to hold onto my current 04 civic, 2 door, 5 speed. Yes it is stock, I know a 1.8 liter stock from Honda is not meant for racing.

I'm feeling the LS-1 route. Thats what I would wait around for. As Im sure you know, 600 hp NA is not hard to get with just simple bolt ons. Not to mention still decent gas mileage and drivability. Or go the supercharged route and get 600hp and over 500ftlbs to the rear wheels The aftermarket is huge right now for Ls engines. They are incredible engines.

hahaha, good point. hey Timmy, are you going to need to drive this car year round?? does it snow where you're at? because any of the aforementioned cars would be worthless in the snow. as much as i talk up my Subaru's they have some issues in the snow as well.

Yes, snows a ton here. It is not the car thats bad in the snow...it is a combination of tiures not suited for snow and a driver not suited for snow. I am not opposed to driving an LS1 year round, snow or not. Roads are only slick day of the snow, we have great plows around here.

Yes, the civic is insane gas mileage, its the stripper car and weighs 2200Lbs......seriously 43MPG in the summer.

Still looking for an LS1/6 speed car. Fox bodies are awesome, but I don't want too much work, I want an engine that is ready to fly with bolt ons (LS1). GTOs are out of my price range right now, and I would love a 2000+ mustang GT 5 speed, but they lack an aftermarket and really need FI to go fast.

thats true, and they are probably going to be a great car, but even a ford loving guy has to admit the newer mustangs are on the wrong side of 3700lbs. But then again, all of the new so called pony cars are way too heavy. Im more of a Pontiac fan myself.... old muscle cars that is, but I currently have a 68 camaro that will be recieving an Ls-1 w/6-speed. It should tip in right around 3,000 lbs and with a mild 450 hp, ( that I am planning), it should be a very fun car. But thats quite a few years down the road until money gets better.

For the money, you really can't beat an Ls-1 equipped car. On a budget of 10k, find a decent one for 6 grand, and less than 4 grand more, be putting out over 500hp to the wheel with a simple top end kit.

The 2010 slp575 camaro is putting out 600hp when put on a dyno. Suposedly they will be supplying the supercharger to chevy next year for the long awaited Z-28 release.
