I hit a rabbit ** killed **
I hit a dog ** killed **
I hit a bird ** killed **

The rabbit was scary but the bird was horrific. Goin ludicrous speed it felt like a gunshot to my right shoulder. Ripped my hand right off the throttle. Didn't know it was a bird -- actually thought that I'd been shot. I was close to my house so I figured I'd get home and then figure things from there. Shoulder hurt but I made it home. Took off my helmet and noticed gobs of splattered blood and tissue. Now I'm freaking. Get the gloves off and I'm looking for the hole in my jacket .... hmmm, no hole. Now I notice a foot in one of the creases. Hmmmmm ... and some feathers .... hmmmmmm. O.K. not shot -- just hit a bird. Still hurt but was glad I didn't get shot.

ummm... have you made some "friends" out there on the road that might be taking shots at you? Maybe I'm glad I ride alone. I mean I ride through Norfolk everyday... and it doesn't get much more ghetto than that and I don't have that fear. But then again, I'm usually packing.

On my XR650L, a small bird flying straight at me and hit me dead center of the chest on the hwy doing about 70mph.....Its beak went through my shirt/windbreaker and made a nice little puncture wound.....The wind kept the dead bird pressed to my chest until i pulled over onto the shoulder. Knocked the breath out of me too.

On the CBR...JuneBug dead center of my visor...you would never think a little bug would have so much goo inside..

Most Painful, on the XR, a truck in front of me flipped out a cigarette butt, and it flew between my jacket/helmet and burnt my neck.....I followed the SOB to the grocerystore where he turned in and I was ready to give him a piece when a 90y old little man hobbled out. My anger kinda disipated and i just told him what happened and he was very apologetic.

I was lucky, it's 3:00 am and a metal light pole was laying across the highway. A car (DUI) hit it about 15 min. before we got there. No traffic so the three of use was cruising (about 100 mph) staggered in the 3 lanes. I was in the far left line, my freind in the far right line (on a 02 954) het the pole, taking the tripple tree right off the frame, and bent the front rim to the calipers. He tumbled about 100 ft., and the bike slid about 200 ft. I just had alot of debris of glass, and small metel peices from the top of the pole to try to avoid, but I hit alittle and no damege.

With all of my gear on and riding one cool evening in Okinawa, a huge island beetle (about the size of a golf ball) hit me square in the throat. Talking about loosing it. The only part of my body I didn't have covered gets hit....and hard. I pulled over and had to massage the throat before continuing on.

I almost for got...one time i was riding in the mountains with my visor open and a damn bee flew in my helmet and went by my ear. I almost lost it! The only place to pull over was a durt pull off but i had no choice. Before the bike even stopped the helmet was off and the bee was out. It sucked. I hate things buzzing by my ears!

I was going to school one morning when I was like 17 and I didnt ride my bike. I had driven my 1971 Camaro SS(450hp 11.02 qtr/mi), was doing about 25 to get out of our condo complex and a bird flew up underneath into the engine compartment straight into my unshrouded aluminum flex fan. Needless to say it sliced and diced this bird into a mess of blood, feathers and bones all over my chrome and painted engine components. It took me a week to finally get all the ooze out of the engine compartment
