RE: Bike for a small girl?????
my only problem with getting her a nice 600RR or F4i is that #1 They can be expensive, #2 I dont know if she will be able to handle that style and that much power in that type of bike. Ya know? Plus she is SUPER Tiny 5'0 maybe 100 pounds...maybe. I think its pretty fair to say shes going to tip this thing over atleast once in the first month she's riding. Im going to look into getting her a 250-400cc nice used bike.

the ninja 250 is a good starting bike.. 2 of my guy friends started on them for their 1st bikes and then 1 of them gave it to his wife to learn on.. and within 1 months time they all were ready to step it up to bigger bikes.. its a great training bike or even just a nice commuter around town.. its **** on the freeway though , but if your just stop and go traffic or even through the twisties you'll have fun

Well at least your gf is interested in riding mine was mad that i bought the widowmaker and not an engagement ring for her she refuses to ride because its too dangerous.....instead shes gonna buy an 2005 chrysler crossfire convertible...
p.s. everyone seems to preach about the older bikes and how they aren't the beasts todays bikes are....but the reality is with the exception of how well balanced packages are and the top end rush todays bikes have older bike are nearly the same thing....they have similar low and midrange power curves etc...I was reading motorcyclist's debate on if we need the new 1k's that have 160+hp at the wheel and they said the same thing.....bike have been making big numbers forever and each time it getting bigger....on top....out of a given displacement you are only gonna get so much torque and volumetric efficiency down low....so buy what you like and ride responsibly be educated msf twist fo the wrist rider shcool etc and know your limits....

RE: Bike for a small girl?????
my aunt was looking into getting a bike too. so i checked out what the ladies lounge had to say, and there was another thread started about bikes and height. one of the ladies mentioned getting taller shoes.... but I'd figure it would be more of a pain to switch gears with a thick sole. then another girl posted that she was looking into Buell because one of their bikes had "adjustable seats." i did a comparison on honda cbr600RR, cbr 600F4I, ninja 500, ninja 250, and the three buells. I don't remember all of them, but the buell blast has a seat height of 27.5 inches or so, but the blast has an optional lower seat that decreases it to 25 something. To give you a comparison, a ninja 250's seat height is 29 something. The blast has the lowest seat height I've found without going to "cruiser" status. the only problem ive found is that many ladies don't like the look of buells. a couple of the ladies i asked said they looked too much like a machine. they aren't "pretty." i suggest you take your lady friend to a bike shop, and let her sit on the bikes. when i took my aunt (she's about 5'3" or 5'4"), she sat on a ninja 250 and was tippy toe'n it.
