Autumn versus winter!!
I had to be up really early the other day and caught the sunrise at the pass ... it was so beautiful, it was eerrily still and calm without a breath of air, the moon was still out as you can see and the sun beginning to rise put a reddish pink glow in the snow ... it was so so beautiful and I wished that I could have shown you guys it for real, it was a very awe inspiring feeling for me standing there in total silence ... because it was so so still and because I was well wrapped up I didn't even feel cold :-) .. I love this place, really love it!!
Of course I was back this way later in the afternoon and my God had it gotten breezy ... that was when I did the wee video and nearly froze my fingers off ..lol
If you compare the picture to my autumn ride video which starts off more or less in the same scene for comparison ... what a difference 3 months can make!!
Freeze the video at 23 seconds and see ..lol

I am standing on top of the Horshoe Pass, Llangollen ... it is in North Wales, UK ... it is a wonderful place, great for riding and lots of beautiful views ... a very different place though between summer and winter :-)

Nice pics as always. I find riding on Summer arvo to be nice, smell of the dampness rising from the ground, sound of the Cicadas coming from the trees. Not much chance of moss or water on the roads. I will admit though that late Autumn & an early start on the road in the New England area of NSW is pretty hard to beat, hitting the New England highway curves, with the only thing to worry a person is a radar trap, dead Roo or Wombat. Heaven on a stick.
