I had a 4GB Nano, upgraded to 30GB, then to a 60GB, then to an 80GB. Haven't had a problem with any of them. They're great.

But if your having problems with it, here's what I propose.......

- Download iTunes 7.

- Open iTunes.

- Plug the iPod into a USB 2.0 port.

- When it asks, click the "update iPod" button.

- When done updating, eject the iPod and close iTunes.

- Re-open iTunes.

- Plug the iPod back in.

- When the iPod appears on the left hand column, click it once.

- Under the "Summary" tab, click the "manually manage music and videos".

- Select music you want to move to your iPod in your iTunes Library.

- Drag and drop the selected music onto the iPod in the left hand column.

- iTunes will say "updating iPod".

- When it's done, eject it and enjoy.

If something doesn't work, let me know which part didn't work. - Hope this helps.

.......Also, by manually managing the music and videos, you can take the iPod to any computer and drag music off of it.

I got my ipod for free over 2 yrs ago....not many issues...but it isnt user friendly and it has stupid thingslike only being able to sync with one cpu at a time
Click the "manually manage music and videos" button, and you can now to go any computer (Mac or PC) and drag n' drop any music, photos or video from it.

I have a 30G iPod as well. Mines freezes every once and a while. Press down on the center button and menu at the same time, hold until it reset its self. That should take care of the iPod itself but I use some software called XPlay 3. It allows you to use Media Player as your sync software and there is a icon on the desk top to open if you want to click and drag music. I hated iTunes. Mac sucks.[sm=shootshoot.gif]

How can yall say Mac sucks? Really? Proof.... where is it? It is not Macs fault that America loves fads and caught on to the iPod. It was around alot longer than most people know. It was way before its time, but only for Mac users, so we were the only ones that used it. Since then America has been eating up the Mac crap. I have been using Macs since I was about 5, and have no problems. I've had nothing go wrong unless I did something bad. I have an older generation that has been going great for about 3 years now.
Last comment... It is sad that the Apple store has to have a seperate line for nonApple users and only iPod owners.
Rant over... [sm=sorry.gif]
