Default Anyone ever messed around with megasquirt?

anyone on here ever mess with megasquirt on a car or bike?

i'm *thinking* about adapting one to my fighter - but i have a few questions/concerns.

the main reason i want to use it is because i need to (well want to anyways) adapt 1000rr TB's and fuel pump to my 954 - but i know there's no real way to do it considering how the fuel is regulated, throttle position sensor reads, idle, choke function (everything is electronically controlled on the 1000rr and a lot of stuff is mechanically controlled on the 954)

as well, the airbox is going to be able to take a LOT more air, i'm going to be using a lot higher compression pistons, so that combined with bigger TBs and bigger cams, i should be able to get a LOT more air and fuel into the bike, so i'll need some sort of way to tune it (and since i don't think i'll be able to get that to work with the 954 ecu OR 1000rr ecu, it kind of also throws out the idea of just adding a PC)

and the thing i like about it is the fact that it looks like i'll be able to program everything from my laptop because with the megasquirt it's universal... so long as i have the sensors

i've done some reading on the site MegaSquirt - Electronic Fuel Injection Computer by Bowling and Grippo ©2010

but i still have no idea how it would work with the way I want to apply it to my fighter. what i'm really worried about is trying to figure out how i would still use spark since the megasquirt is designed to work with 1 coil (we have 4 in the 954).

anyone ever worked with it before who could maybe answer a few questions for me?

I haven't used it personally but the forum I used to mess around on for one of my cars has boatloads of guys who have. Try poking around on mx6.com and you may find the answers you need there

Conrice, If you do go that route you should make a write up on it. I've got a 97 gsxr750 and I've been looking into the same thing to make it into a FI bike.

hahaha, it is funny. if you google search 'meagasquirt on a sportbike' - on just about every forum , most members were thinking about going in a different direction.
