600cc or 1000cc???

RE: 600cc or 1000cc???
I'll chill about a 600 power wheeling at 200 mph - but - I'd dead serious about some of the crap that isn't as funny as that... People read this forum looking for real advice, and don't nessessarily have the background we have. You see lots of new posters, but there are many that read and are afraid, or not interested in posting. They read some **** about cornering for a new rider - then go wad into a tree, or worse yet, spread it as advice "that a friend told me". In that context, the humor gets lost pretty quickly. I admin elsewhere and see enough of it that it's frustrating - and concerning. Luckily here, and elsewhere regulars are fairly quick to jump on it.
As for the original topic - I don't find any noticeable size difference between 600/1000, but there is a noticeable power difference.
IF you need size then the sport tourers are worth considering. I've been tempted by the Triump ST. I tried the FJR and a few other mid to large size tourers. Not enough ground clearance and not a good match for the way I ride. I SPORTtour. So - right now I'm trying to demo a bandit 1250 SEA... bags, full fairings, and seemingly good clearance. Also way under the price of the "real" sportTOURERs.
Have to look at your riding style and needs. I love to long distance tour - so I like a bike that can log highway miles without feeling like I was loved roughly in a jungle. That being said, my day to day riding is local twisties, and I have had serious problems with both a K1200GT and FJR1300 running out of clearance at speeds I'm only just starting to have fun with.
If I could have my F4 - with a real passenger seat and hard bags - I don't think I'd want another bike. That won't happen - but maybe the bandit or the ducatti would.

Yes I understand exactly what you are saying and it is correct..
But seriously mate , how many people would ever come back and form a fully rounded community without the fun and games that goes on here ..
We all need to read the noobs stuff when we start our ridding careers
( and there is a ton!! of that here already and still gets posted every day!!)
, but after a few weeks of all the serious stuff , no one would come back except for the rare visit to grab some more info...
Look at the majority of regular members here ...most if not all, post more personal stuff and funny **** to amuse and to have a laugh..than serious replies ....... that's just a fact of life on any well balanced forums ..
The day comes where these forum get as serious as you might want them and we will loose most members as regulars ..
The members online will read 10 instead of 110

It's fine to have fun... I'm actually come for the entertainment. I specifically complain/moan about the bad advice, and simply false claims. False claims we can laugh at... bad advice is not so laughable.
I went off on an unrelated tangent when the 600cc wheelie guy claimed he could pop a wheelie in 6th gear. That was the false claim type we can laugh at. The other type, not in this thread, is the guy who gives bad advice on cornering that could easily lead to an accident.

RE: 600cc or 1000cc???
From what I felt when sitting on a LOT of bikes, the 1000's were always more comfortable than the 600's. But that was last years production bikes. I know a yama R6 I was LAYING on the tank basically, zx-6r just didnt feel as good as the 10 did, Couldn't decide whether the 600rr or 1000rr was more comfortable, but leaned to the 600. That's as far as comfort. I'm 6 foot 1, 175 lbs if it makes a difference (oh yeah, never even TRIED to sit on a gixxer, lol). Then I found my bike and kinda settled, but I love it.
