600cc vs 1000cc or something in between
Pro's and Con's of both, Purposes of both and your preference. My first bike is my 600 F4i, I'm debating between the new 07 600RR or a 1000RR or the 800VFR. Check out these videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObNxmDbFlR0 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFrYJdrsEfI
600RR. race ready 600cc bike, just ditch the mudflap on the back, put a good sounding slip on exhaust on it, power commander and some Pilot Race tires, you're ready for a day at the track.
1kRR. power to bring the front wheel off the ground in 4th with stock everything, 170+mph, big *****. did I mention 170+?

I'm actually happy with my bike right now, but it is the only bike I've ever ridden, so I have nothing to compare it to. I'm not sure if it is the type of bike for the type of riding I want to do. I'm just trying to learn about the pros and cons of other bikes and hear others opinions.
It is really all in the rider what you want. Both are great bikes.I myself love 600's cause I'm a corner freak. 600's are sooo easy to flick in and out of turns to me more then a 1k.
ok, do not get mad for suggesting this, but if you want a good midrange power bike that handles like a gem, then i'd look at the GSX-R 750. Nothing but good comes from that bike ive heard. Sport rider just did a long article on it. However,i started ridinghonda and will for the rest of my life...so its up to you. I am also wanting an RR, but still making payments (about 1700 payed off of 5700, through my dad) and am very happy with my F4i. I rode a 600rr and loved it, but was more uncomfortable, so i dont know if you care about it but the RR is a more "tracky" bike whereas our F4is are for sport cruising and having fun, with the occasional track day mushed in
The 600RR has MORE than enough power on the street. Much more that you'll ever need. Plus, the 07 is going to be lighter, more powerful, and handle better, so the new 07 600RR might actually perform as well as a comparable 750-800cc sportbike.
I had the good fortune to ride all three bikes (F4i, 600RR, 1000RR) before I bought one. The F4i felt great, tame and street-friendly, but lacked that little bit of punch I craved. The 600RR had that extra bit of punch I wanted. The 1000RR just straight up scared the **** out of me with the unbelievable amount of power on tap that just seemed to never run out.
So I would think that jumping from the F4i to the new, more powerful 07 600RR would be a kick in the ***. Jumping from an F4i to a 1000RR would be a stratigic kick to the left ********.
.........you know, just to put it into perspective, lol.
Good luck with whatever you do, my two cents is resting on the 07 600RR. I've read and heard nothing but great things about it thus far.

What do you mean by " I'm not sure if it is the type of bike for the type of riding I want to do. "? The F4i is a great all around bike.
I just don't see why you would want to part with it if you enjoy riding it. If you want to see what other bikes feel like, I'm sure you
got some friends that are willing to let you try their bikes.

Good point, I'll talk to some friends. I'm really happy with my F4i, I sometimes have a hard time being content with what I have, especially when I think there are other bikes that might be better.
