Yuasa is probably the best, but pricey. Honestly, probably the only reason my bike has one is its still the oem battery. But, I've actually had good luck with the cheap batteries on ebay for my wifes bike. But it was not driven very far. probably only 3,000 miles in two years. but the battery held up fine. Im not sure how well they would hold up to everyday use. I would imagine fine though.

but, I think any autoparts store battery would fine as well. Just make sure it has the correct specs.

One thing to check now though is that your charging system is ok. It sounds like you may have some shorted cells, and if thats the case, make sure your stator and rectifier are working correctly before putting in a new battery. if something is wrong, you don't want to fry your new battery.

Yuasa cost more upfront, but they last. I had my original for 8 years & only replaced it when I though it was shot, but turned out it was the reg anyway.
Regardless, what ever you get, if your not riding or just doing short trips, get yourself a good bike battery charger & charge the battery once a month, it extends their life.

Well the bike died on me today, but i knew the battery needed a charge anyway so its my own fault. charged it up and tested it, wasnt completely shot but not full by any means. the bike hasnt been ridden much this season and wasnt tended over winter. If the previous owner isnt lieing about the stator being replaced i think its just the battery.

But otherwise, im about to make sure its not the system this week. I found a good post over on 1000rr.net and i think im going with the Yuasa. Unless my local motor store has a good battery cause i like giving them the business. Thanks for the replies.
