Some of you are so against wheelies like they automatically turn to death on the spot---under control and in the right area i see no harm.

I never said I was against wheelies. I'm against stunting on public streets. When you are getting pulled over by a "Burlington city cop" you obviously aren't in a controlled area. I live in Illinois, so it doesn't get more country than this, and you know where people do their stunting around here? In the parking lots of motorcycle shops after hours or Sunday/Monday when they are closed.

You're near Chicago, man that's an awesome city. Would like to ride there someday.

Anyhow, the wheelie i pulled was hardly stunting-it was actually a pretty weak wheelie but a cop happend to see me. Alot of people here think that pulling a wheelie is a mere sin.

Ok I have a few ?? and then comments.

First is the degree of wheelie you said 10 and I assumed 2 then was correted by another person that it would indeed be 10 o'clock,
My question is this..when riding your wheel would be at 3 right?
so 2 would be mild(2 feet off the ground) 12 is straight up and 10o'clock would be in the process of looping the bike over.

I'm no stunter, but I do know math and how to tell time.

Secondly, you said your wheelie was at 10 then in a back pedal you said it was weak. So which is it, and as pointed out you apparently weren't in the middle of no where as you were busted by a city cop.

Third, whats up with the attitude and name calling?

It is this behavior and attitude that gives us as a community a bad rap. I think most here are not anti stunt, just anti stupid squid behavior on the open roads.

On a side note at least you didn't drag this thread up from 4 years ago. :0

I'm glad that you can tell time son. Sometimes around NY a 2 o'clock and a 10 are considered the same in a slang sense. Pertaining to an acute angle while reffered to both not an obtuse. Think about it.

The wheelie I pulled wasn't very long and yes i do agree that it should have been done elsewhere but it seemed right at the time.

BTW you sound like an idiot using the word squid.

That's precisely my own point. I was simply providing another perspective on the statement "there's no safe wheelie". Why do you think I told him to save stunting for parking lots?

To be completely honest, I enjoy seeing my buddies throw an occasional wheelie around on the street. And if I was any good at them, I probably would, too. But my friends are skilled, respect things like the traffic around them (won't do it with cars in close vicinity, etc), and don't whine if they get caught because they know the risks. So while most stunts should be kept off public roads, I think it's ridiculous to expect everyone to keep their throttles controlled. That's like convincing everyone to never speed or take a corner fast...

Where I'm from 10 and 2 are not the same there is 90 degree of difference. The only way they are the same(sort of) is a 2o' wheelie and a 10o' stoppie. There is a reason for the linear gauge of something. I know a 2o'clock wheelie doesn't sound as cool as a
10o'clock but come on son don't go around sounding like an idiot using slang.

While were talking about idiots, VT lets not be an idiot and make a comment on a thread that has been dead for 3 years. I know you are working hard on post count. I'm sure that is why you started this thread in here as opposed to the off topic or stunters corner.

Any who, have a great day...son.

Hey toeless, we must be standing on opposite sides of the bike when it goes by. Looking at the right side of the bike as it goes by, its headed in the 9 0'clock position as opposed to standing on the left side then its heading in the 3 o'clock....So we're both right.
And for the record the only idiot I've seen reply in this thread is VT.
