the 5-0 caught be yanking a wheelie
alright, so I got pulled over by a Vermont Burlington city cop for yanking a mere 10 o'clock wheelie for 20 feet.
So when he pulled me over and asked me if i knew why i was being pulled over i said for doing a wheelie of course. He collected all my paper work then was went to his car.
He rifled around in his car for a good 30 minutes which was more than enough time for him to write me a ticket but a much more unpredictable outcome bleeded out.
In a sort of dissapointed voice he says "well from my ordinance guide, I see no ticket that can be written for doing a wheelie on a motorcycle, I could pull you in for wreckless endangerment but i'm not going to---don't tell your buddies that there is no ticket for doing a wheelie"
who has had a ticket written to them for yanking a wheelie?

Zero, i'm on my third CBR and collectively i've been riding for 8 years street and 3 years dirtbike prior. I always live by the rule-once you stop respecting your bike, the bike stops respecting you.
Zero were you really that terrified when your front wheel came up a little bit? seriously, it's not that big of a deal. The next time i'll do it in more of a rural area but please Zero---wheelies dont bite...as long as you're comfortable with your bike and dont go overboard.
Never heard of a state arresting you on the spot for doing a wheelie.

In Florida it is a $1000 ticket for the first offense if any tire leaves the ground. No stoppies or wheelies. The next fine is 1500 and then 3000 and they take your bike and motorycle liscense. So you got lucky. With the economy like it is, cops are writing as many tickets as they can.
