Default Yo from Los Angeles

New to the forum. Great stuff here. I was able to ****** a Honda CBR 600 F3 SE (Smokin' Joe edition). Pretty much a bike that's just been sitting and collecting leaves and dust. Didn't run for a few years. Cleaned the carburetor, replaced the oil/filter, air filter, spark plugs/coil, fuel pump/filter, clutch cable, adjusted the rear master cyclinder/brake and pfoof, she's brought back to life. Problem is the fuel pump only runs with a paper clip jump. Bought a relay from dealership just to be sure, but still a no go. Only kicks in with the clip/jumper. Other than that, she's a beast.

Hey there and welcome. I always like the Smoking Joe edition bikes. Post up some pics sometime.

If I read your comment correctly, the pump is functioning as designed. It does not kick on unless the engine is actually running.
On the right side of the bike, near the seat theres a four pin connector. Jumping the bue and the blue/black wires together with the key in the on position simulates the bike running and the pump should turn on.

Thanks for the warm welcome. The fuel pump only kicks in by jumping the 3 pin (blue and blue/black wires as you mentioned) but not with the actual relay plugged in. Crazy may it sound but it used to run normally with the relay.

Trace wiring from relay and verify all wires are whole end-to-end (measures zero ohms). Pump does not run continuously, it is triggered by ignition-pulses between ignitor and coil. When cranking and at idle, there's few ignition pulses per second and few pump pulses and little fuel is pumped. At higher RPMs, there's more ignition pulses per second for more fuel delivered. There's circuit in clocks that turns pump on full-time above certain speed.
