Default 98 f3 bogs after a while

ok here i am with yet another issue...havent been able tonride and im dying because of it lol. but recently my bike crapped out on me...i determined it needed a fuel pump...so i bought one and installed it...bike ran good for about ten miles then started bogging amd shut off like it wasnt getting fuel...i pushed her home...a mile is a long distamce when its hot amd humid pushing a bike lol...but either way...im not sure if im still having a fuel issue or not....by the time i got home and put the charger on it since i had killed the battery she fired right up....i do have a fuel filter after the pump i inline amd im wondering 2 things. if the filter is clogged will the cut relay for the pump do its job amd turn the pump off? if so how come it still started after the fact? gravity cant feed the carbs rumning through that rats nest. and also the filter is not filling up from what i can tell. so im really stumped yet again...any ideas would be greatly apreciated thanks

Your looking for ideas bud just my 2 penny's worth (yep from over the pond!)
First question you asked I believe- will a fuel pump relay do its job, yes it will it works via the wiring loom via pick up to send a signal to close that rely therefor current (amps) will be directed to the fuel pump to once again "act" and deliver petrol (sorry gas!) into the fuel chambers. So as you can see there is NO MECHANICAL MOVEMENT, pure current and if you charged the battery once home it's doing its job well as you got it going again.

So this to me points to 1 conclusion- you battery is buggerd!

Others on here with much more vast knowledge may well agree or point you in the right direction

Ride Safe,
Ant.

but what im wondering is if the fuel filter after the pump is clogged will that cause the fuel pump to shut off thinking the carbs are full? not quite sure how the cut relay works under what conditions i mean but i would imagine that once the carbs are full the system gets ever so slight pressure and somehow the relay will cut power to the fuel pump. so im just basically thinking if thats how it works then the filter being clogged is simulateing the carbs being full therefor cutting power to the pump and in return im not getting fuel delivered....im actually working on the bike now so ill keep yall postex if it does the trick

so I put the filter and and I got to ride for about 6 miles before the bike shut off on me again and had to push it home again.... but halfway on my journey home I decided to take a break and look at the fuel filter it was not full of fuel and since this is a new pump I located the fuel cut relay and hit it with a screwdriver that I had and the bike fired up and ran long enough for me to get home and once I got home I noticed the fuel filter was empty yet again and did not feel the fuel pump working so my next option I guess is to replace the relay I guess once it gets hot it stops working... now does anybody know if I can just jumper the relay? or is that a bad idea? I haven't had a chance to check it with a test light yet but that's the only thing that could be left
