Default Things to look out for when buying?

Hi, I'm considering buying a used bike in a couple of weeks but I am a complete novice when it comes to this. Any advice or things I should know before I buy?

Hi SenSpeed!
If you haven't purchased your bike already, the best thing to do is to choose the exact type and model you want to buy then drop your question in the appropriate forum for that particular bike and you will get tons of feedback.
Good luck and ride safe.

I'd say, think about the type of riding you will be doing and where it will be done. If you are lucky enough to have good twisty roads that are nearby, then look at the RRs. If you want a more comfy ride around town/commuting with a passenger look at the F4i. Sit on a bunch of bikes and think about how extreme you want the seating position.

Other than that, most people will reccommend a small ninja to start then in a year move up to a 600cc or bigger sportbike. That is your choice, I went to the F4i as my first bike but I can clearly see why a smaller bike is much better to start on. Trust me, you will be having so much f***ing fun just being on two wheels that you won't care that it only has 250 or 500cc.

Don't forget to look into insurance before you buy and check out safety gear prices because that stuff can save you skin/life.

Take the MSF course.

good luck on your choice.

Very important! Most accidents on motorcycles occur with a rider that has had ZERO formal training!
