Things to Look for When Buying
Hey guys,
I am looking to upgrade from my '85 VF500F to a 2002 F4i with 25k miles. What should I look out for when I take a look at it? The CCT has been replaced, although it was by a previous owner so the current one doesn't know whether its OEM or aftermarket.
I have some experience with the mechanics of bikes so feel free to be technical.
Thanks, and hopefully I'll be able to post pics soon

Go to Google & search "used motorcycle buyers guide" & you'll get lots of useful resources.
Be sure to ask to look at the bike w/ the lower failings removed. They can hide a multitude of sins.
Obviously, look for any frame damage. Check to see if the fork seals are not leaking. Check wiring for signs of tampering &/or rig-up improper splicing. Make sure everything works.
Ask for all service records.
Verify VIN & engine #'s w/ title & registration.
