Default Thanks for letting me join....I have a problem with my 1999 CBR600 F4

Thanks for reading my post. I just bought a used bike. I was on my way to work and my bike just died on me on the freeway. Like if it wasn't getting any gas. It cranks over but, doesn't start up. Could this be my fuel pump?

It could be fuel pump or regulator, sparks, lines, fuses or the screen in the tank being clogged. i would give a good once over to all the wiring and fuel lines

The day before this happened my bike was bogging out on my way to work. When I went home it ran just fine.

man its hard to tell, how old are the sparks and is it the original fuel regulator? if the sparks are worn out change em and i would change the reg if your not sure when its been changed last.

Could be a pump... could be teh pump relay... maybe fuel filter but not likely.. last year my F4 did that.. would shut off like it was out of gas.. turned out to be the fuel pump.

Easy fix

Thanks guys, that's helpful. I'll try some of the suggestions and hopefully it's something easy and not too expensive.

So I just took off the hose going from the fuel pump to the carbs and turned the key and shot some gas out but, when I try starting it, it doesn't shoot any gas out at all. Is that normal?
