Really glad you are enjoying it, there is something enormously satisfying doing it for yourself and it actually working
The new exhaust should sound fab.
Well another battle was done today, I really thought the exhaust was going to be an easy job, I bought it for my model and all, and having gorilla mits doesn't make life any easier, I just could not get them up to put the nuts on the head studs,my daughter ended up doing it. then with quite a lot of levering into place it finally all came together. I got so wrapped up in what I was doing I completely forgot the pics, I will get some more in the morning, then time to start planning a ride with it. Sorry they are not the best, I had finished atatching one side before I remembered the camera. and it is getting dark now so the flash doesn't do much for the pics either. Because I had to remove the oilpan, I needed another gasket so I made one up, just needs a little trimming around the edges. (like me.) most of the exhaust is held together with springs, this is where the 4 come into 2. This bit was a real struggle, this is where the 2 become 1, I didn't notice until I took it off the centre stand, and found it got hung up, the back wheel just made it to the ground. It took some fighting but I did get it in the end. It is certainly a lot louder than the stock exhaust was, I thought for sure the bigger the muffler the quieter it would be, still, glad it is back on the road again.
Well today I got out on the bike and I had a really enjoyable ride, the volt meter was hovering around 14.1 volts, and she never missed a beat. I enjoyed so much I really didn't want to head back home for a while longer. I went for a leasurely cruise along the river, everything is so green after all the rain we have had here of late. Nothing will ever beat the scenery you get when riding. Pretty much all I can think of doing for now, it is running sweet and sounds pretty good, but I would have still prefered to have a twin exhaust system, but I couldn't justify the expense these companies want for such a thing, so I will be satisfied with the single system.
Whats a fantastic result, makes all of the hard work pay off, she looks great.
I echo your sentiment on the twin exhausts, there is something about symmetry that is hard to put into words but is very appealing.
