Default Newbie with troubles

Hi guys!
I have Just bought a cbr f 1998 from a friend.
At the beginning, the moto "start" was perfect, but now after few days I have noticed that there is problems in starting it.Pratically, I try to start it by pushing the button, but it doesn't go on. It looks like if there is not any response by motor.
What can I do?Candles are new(less than an year), like the battery(they have the same life).
Moto doesn't start also pushing it(I put the 2nd gear).
Can you help me?
All he Best, from Italy

It does sound like a battery issue. Try putting it on a charger for a serveral hours, like 12 hours at 2 amps slow charge. I was an idiot a few months back and left my key on for hours almost killing the battery. It started fine when I turned the key off, but when I went to ride a couple days later.... nothing. Couldn't even bump start it in fourth gear. Second gear is still kind of low to bump start a bike in with our high compression engines. Put it on a charger for an hour and started right up. Went back a couple of hours later and nothing again. Left the chager on over night at 2 amps and it's back to normal.

Ok, first of all thanks to all of you and sorry for my bad english...
I checked the battery and it is ok, i'm sure.
I don't know the english word, but i'm sure that the problem is that the fuel is "locked" somewhere in the bike...I think that I have to look better, especially in the candles and in the carburators... but my techincal knoweledge are near the "0".
So if I'll go down an hill and put the 4th gear should the bike start? It could be dangerous this operation?

If it isn't the candles (spark plugs), could it be bad gas? Water in the gas?
