Newbie!! advice?
I"m looking to get a CBR 600, I found some but they are expensie like 6k, or so. This will be my first Bike, but i've rode Dirt bike for about year (yamaha 250cc) would this be a good starter bike? I'm 6'2 185 pounds if that means anything, I've got a Acura rsx and just love hondas so kinda wanted to keep it... Also whats the difference between the CBR 600 F4 or the RR ( i dont remember for sure the model, but it was on honda's site)
also whats some good frame slider bars? i dont care about looks just the most function.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!

RE: Newbie!! advice?
Hello, and welcome.
As for the difference between the rr and f4i, their are alot of posts on this topic, so just do a search. Overall the rr is more agressive, and probably not idea for a first time rider. I'd say the f4i will give you the best of both worlds, comfort, power and a good transition in the sportbike world. I would normally recomend a kawi 500r, but for your size you might feel more comfortable on a 600. Consider getting race railz, they are very functional and protect the bike a good deal, if you are more worried about just cost, then any manufactoror will do, just be prepared to drill through your plastics to install them

RE: Newbie!! advice?
Welcome. Biggest diff between the F4 and the RR is response. Everything on the RR is just a bit touchier than the F4. Throttle, turn in, brakes....either one can be the best or worst bike you'll ever ride depending on how you ride it. $6k may be reasonable but keep in mind you can get new for around $7500 and if you are financing $1500 is worth no questions as to how it was taken care of. Ask for service records and if they dont have them ask to have it inspected, including a compression test PRIOR to buying. Offering to split the cost of the inspect, if your a serious buyer, usually persuades them to agree to make sure you are both getting treated fairly. Good luck. Post up and let us know what ya get.

Finally and most importantly - be careful when you do get that bike. Most people here will agree with me that the dirt (tracks or trails) is not the same as the road. Yes the coordination, balance and some other skills will transfer over but it's a different game on the asphalt. Cages move around a lot more than trees and hay bales do!!!!
Good luck shopping.
