Default New rider; f4i for first bike

Another newbie here. This past september I bought an '02 CBR600 f4i as my first bike and I was thrilled! I had done a lot of research before purchasing and I was liking everything I heard about this bike. I live in MA, so I only got to take the bike out a few times before the weather got too cold, but it was everything I hoped it would be. Sadly, when I got out this spring I had an issue with it not starting which I managed to fix (or so I thought), but then I was getting terrible gas mileage (18mpg) which I tried to fix with a new FPR, but now my bike is back to not starting again. Anyway, I've done a lot of lurking on the forum and I've learned a ton already. Can't wait to spend more time here! Hopefully the guys over in the f4i forum can help me fix my bike so I can get back to enjoying the road on two wheels!

Welcome to the forum!

Glad to hear the riding bug has bitten you, but sorry to hear you're having these issues. Luckily, we have some really good techs on the forum and a HUGE F4i following. Post your story in the F4i section, and you'll get a lot of help.

Have you been around bikes before your new-to-you F4i?

Welcome to the forum and the F4i family. If you haven't already done so, download/acquire a copy of the shop manual for our bikes. Between the manual and the forum you should be able to answer all your questions and trouble shoot your problems.

Before I bought my f4i I had practically zero experience with motorcycles. I've ridden mountain bikes for years and I've found that SOME of those skills transfer over (handling mostly), but it's been hard to train myself to use the rear brake since all my feet do on a mtb is pedal, haha.
I bought the Haynes manual already and I've downloaded another manual as well. The Haynes manual has been a huuuge help so far with the work I've done and the forum has really been a great resource for trying to diagnose the problems I've had.
Here a link to the thread I created in the f4i section for my bike's current starting issues if anyone cares :P
