Hey everybody,

I did the msf training with BAMT here in cali last week. Getting my moto liscence tomorrow. woohoo! i've been browsing the forums and have some ideas as to which new bike i want and what needs doing.

Bike: thinking of getting the 1000rr in black. the silver logos on black design of the 1000 is so much more sleek than the 600rr's red logos on black. Do you guys think going with a the 1000 over the 600 is a good idea for a beginner? im thinking i should start with the bike im probly going to end with. im a tall guy at 6' 160# so i think i can handle it. but of course will have lots of practice before taking it to the streets.

Mods: Fender Eliminator of course. looking at the competition werkes. and proton flush mounts. Are these easy mods with no cutting involved?

Other: Alpinestars Spinner Jacket. Alpinestars Street Cargo Pants. Alpinestars Mp2 gloves. Scorpion Exo 700 Helmet. Axio Swift Hard Backpack.

Oh one last thing, i was wondering what the point of changing the pipe or having slip on is? is it for better performance? or for the sound? i'd actually prefer a more silent pipe. is the stock pipe pretty silent?

Any suggestions and or commets aprreciated!

Thanks all.

welcome...ok i did the same thing most people say start out with a small bike and the get bigger. Well i started with a gixxer 1000 for my first street bike. all you need is self control not to twist the throtle during your learning prosess. the only thing i would say is that if you ar planning to wheelie and stuff to start small it is much easier to learn on something with less power. as for the pipe it does actually have some performance related aspects. but as for a slip on it is mainly for tone and with so many to choose from all you need to do now is listen to the other bike going by and compare your sound to what you want and then see what pipe it is
