Hello there,my name is Nate and i live in St.louis area.I have a 2004 R1 with a blown engine,which i'm tryindg to fix.
I didnt want to be without a bike for too long so i came across a black 2006 cbr 1000.It wasnt love at the first site,But the cbr is growing on me and i'm getting more compliments for it than the R1.Honda has done a wonderfull job with this beast.
Anyway wanted to know with normal driving what is the average tempreature that the engine is runing at? mine is at 180 to 178 and wont go lower.The R1 was at 165 to 168.Should i be concerned or is this normal? Also what mileage are you guys and gals getting out of the rear tires.Thanks

 

Not sure about the 1000 but my 600 runs as low as 170 to around 185. It will get higher if I am cruising around a parking lot, but once I get back on the road and get going it will drop right back down. Running the curves it stays around in the 180's area.

Welcome to the forum. The temp sounds about right so dont worry, its a big engine.
