Nah, no need to feel stupid... that's what we're all here for -- to share what we know (and learn more). We were all newbs at some point (shoot, I'm still a newb in many ways).

NADA is another place to get bluebook values. The best place that i know of is A.B.O.S.. Most banks will use this resource guide called "ABOS" to see what a product is worth. It's the same guide I use working for American Marine & Motor Sports Supercenter. Every financial institution within 100 miles of us accepts ABOS values. See if banks around you do too. NADA & KBB tend to devalue Motorcycles, ATV, and watercraft dramaticly while ABOS isnt nearly as harsh and is more widely accepted. See for yourself.

Don't get a CBR600 RR to start you're just asking for an expensive lesson, I'm not saying you can't handle it but you more than likely will drop it and break something, get an older 500 (GS500 or EX500) and then sell it when you're done with it and get a bigger bike. I rode a GS500 and loved it now I have a CBR600 F4i and I love it too but I am very glad that I started on a bike that built my confidence instead of scaring the $hit out of me. Just my 2 cents do what you like but remember you're not the only person on the road.

Dont think you have to buy a certain ride just because your friends all have them. "Get seat time before you push the line"!!!!
