Default New Guy Intro And a Stupid Question

Hey all,

I have to say I have found this forum helpful in the past for merely just browsing. I figured it was finally time to jump the bandwagon and actually become a participant of the forums.

I'm 27, I hail from Fremont CA, mostly.. I've been fixing an 87 Hurricane for the last 3 months. The bike was in crap shape when I got it, but has come a long way since then.

I do a bit of vehicle restoration with my free time. Whether it's a friends car or motorcycle or one of my own. Current vehicles are the Hurricane and a 1989 MX5(miata). I've had the CBR for just under a year before I'd started to fix it, and I have been driving the MX5 for a few years now. But this isn't about cars, this is about Bikes, so I will move onto my stupid question.

I've been going for a basic naked streetfighter look. The original Farrings are gone, the Headlight cowl is cracked and bits are broken off from an accident no doubt from the previous owner. I'm fine without the farrings, and have found a decent replacement for the headlight, but the bane of my problems is the instrument panel. I havent had any luck locating a decent replacement, aftermarket instrument panel. I want to reduce the bulk on the front end, going digital is Ideal, but not finding anything, at all, that would replace the stock gauges and panel. Reaching out to other enthusiasts who might know places online where I can obtain an aftermarket replacement that will work with the 87. This is pretty much the only thing keeping me from taking the bike out at this point.

Will post pictures as soon as I figure that part out. Thanks in advance for anyone with tips or leads on getting this beast going!
