Default New to the forum but not to bikes...

Hey guys, names Sam, 17 years old and just bought a older rocket...1987 CBR600 Hurricane. Got it pretty cheap. Of course, it needs a new cam chain tensioner. P.O. hit something and bent up the fairing bracket and smashed the headlight. Has a V&H exhaust. A jet kit would help but it runs out nice with good power. Just sandblasted, repainted headers and repacked the silencer. Now waiting on funds to transfer so i can order up one of these manual cam chain tensioners. How do you go about getting the right setting on the tensioner? Also i dont have a manual yet, what oil should i run?

Welcome to CBRF Sam!! You'll find manual CCT installation and adjustment instructions here https://cbrforum.com/forum/f2-tech-93/cct-replacement-fix-engine-rattle-good-91238/. The link is from the F2 forum, but the same procedure should work for your bike as well.

Good luck and keep the shiney side up.
