Default New to the forum but not new to bikes

Hello all,

New to the forum but not new to bikes. Well, after 5 years with my R6 I wrecked it last week. The insurance Co. totaled it and let me buy it back for cheap. Now it will become a track bike.

I was in the market for a Ducati 1098/1198, before the wreck, because I didn't like any of the new "Jap" bikes. Unfortunately, I really needed a bike for bike week.

My buddy told me to go to the "dealer" and look at the CBR's. So I did. I couldn't pass up the great deal I got on a 08 Candy Red/Silver CBR1000. $8,000 OTD with 0.9%. Mods are on the way. Just waiting for SLOW-P-S to deliver.

Yeah, it was mostly cosmetic. The only real damage was the headlight housing was broke off (hence the duct tape) and the sub frame was twisted.

The wreck was estimated around $7,000. So it was totaled and I was giving about $5,400 and i bought it back for $1,000. So it will be made a track bike.

I must say I am enjoying my new CBR!

Welcome to CBRF, Dipstix!
Dam nice RR, man. I like the red a lot.

Sorry to hear about the R6, but hey... you seem to be ok, so that's all that really counts, right?

Welcome aboard, and enjoy the sweet new ride!!
