On the way home after picking it up

After what seemed like a long break from bikes (really only 12 months and not by choice) I picked this 1996 CBR600F3 up a couple of days ago.
I've been riding for a bit over 20 years and have owned a few different bikes over that time- this is the first smaller capacity sports bike and I'm really impressed so far.
I was surprised I could fit on it (I'm 6 foot 5 and 135kg, around 300 pounds) but it is so comfortable and easy to ride. I'm looking forward to getting out there and covering some ground.
Thanks for having me 😁

Welcome Buzz. What else did you ride before the F3?

1990 Suzuki VX800

1981 Suzuki GSX1100 SXZ Katana, behind is a 2007 Suzuki GSX1400

I've had a few bikes over the years- apart from the ones in the photos I've had a couple of 250's, a 1984 Suzuki GS1100GK and a 1985 Kawasaki GPZ750.
I've been a bit close minded to brands other than Suzuki but after having a CB250 Honda for a while as a run around and seeing how well it was put together I was happy to open my eyes.
Thanks for the welcome Airforce75 👍

I love the can of tuna. It was way ahead of it's time. I had an 81 GS1100 and an 83 1150ES. I wish I still had my 1100. I did a lot of 2 up turing on it. It had the most comfortable seat.

The 80's bikes were definitely comfortable, although the Katana was more suitable for someone a bit more average sized. There's something about the tall skinny wheels and the wide engines that pushes my buttons

I also have an 81 FJ1100, 1200 wisco pistons, and web cams. Ran 1070's all day at 129. Also toured on it. It now has a broken cam chain and needless to say is on the back burner. From what I can remember of the 80's it was a great decade.

Nice bikes the FJ's, solid as.
The 80's seemed to be a time where motorcycle chassis and tyres were finally catching up with engines.

The 80's were great because of sport bikes and the beginning of the cruisers. Chassis have really moved forward since the Japanese started to use aluminum. Easy to polish too.
