Default Riding for 20yrs, but new to CBR F4i

I've owned at least 15 bikes over the past 20 years, but never a CBR. I came across a beat up 2001 F4i for a steal and plan to rebuild it.

I've ridden everything from 250 dirt bikes to liter class sportbikes. My current rides are:

2007 Moto Guzzi Griso
2001 Moto Guzzi California
1976 BMW R90/6
1974 Moto Guzzi Eldorado
1972 Moto Guzzi Eldorado w/ sidecar

I just sold a 1997 YZF1000 this summer and was looking for a "sportbike" project to replace it.

I've owned several Honda's in the past, my favorite being a 1995 VFR750 that I sold with 52,000 miles on it. It still looked and ran like new.

I look forward to learning some things from the forum.

AJ

Welcome to the forum AJ! We look forward to adding your experience to our collective here.

You don't like Moto Guzzis do you? ;-) Sounds like you've got quite the collection. Please post up some pictures...you can start a photo album on your profile page or post 'em here.

Congrats on getting your '01 F4i. Hope you're able to get it up to where you want it quickly.

Here are some of the bikes I've owned in the past 5 years. I tend to buy neglected bikes, fix them up and sell them to buy another. It is a process that drives my wife crazy, but generates a little income for my hobby. The car you see in some of the pictures is my 1954 Dodge Coronet. Sadly, I just sold it tonight to one of my neighbors. I just didn't drive it, and would rather work on the bikes than tinker with it.

Wife's 01 California & my 07 Griso at the lake.

Better view of the Griso. The HUGE stock pipe has been replaced.

01 Aprilia Mille - talk about a wheelie machine!!!

01 Aprilia Falco - still one of the two most beautiful bikes I've ever owned

1992 Yamaha Seca II - first bike I ever owned. (also the only one I've crashed, but I rebuilt it).

1997 YZF600r - rebuilt the ENTIRE bike and didn't like the way it rode. Traded for the YZF1000

1995 VFR750 - one of the few bikes I regret letting go. Sold with 52,000 miles.

KLR250 that I got with a wrecked FZR. The FZR was junk but the little KLR turned out to be a gem

Yellow Rebel was the wife's first bike. I bought her the maroon VLX and she hated it. The Red ACE was my first cruiser.

The current Guzzi Eldorado sidecar project. Hopefully she will be on the road soon.

Buell Blast that I bought at auction for $400. Fixed it up & sold it for $1600. In all, I made about $900 on the deal.

1997 YZF1000 - pulled like a train & was very comfortable, but a guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse, so I sold it.

The Griso is the only bike in my garage that is safe. I hope the F4i is as reliable as the VFR and more fun to ride than the YZF600. I'll post some pictures of it soon. It is very rough!!!

AJ, I like your style. You do great work! Thanks for posting up the pics. That's some great looking stuff! There needs to be more guys out there like you that brink bikes & cars back to live another life. Keep it up! Hope it doesn't drive your wife too crazy.

Awesome pics and bikes, man. Thanks for posting them up and welcome to the site.
My buddy had that same VFR. I think he regrets selling it, too.
