my first sportbike/restoration project
hey all im pretty new to these fancy crotchrocket things. ive been into dirtbikes cars and trucks for years (550hp single turbo mustang ) anyways ran across this F3 for cheap and couldnt let it pass me by.
story behind the bike. i bought it from a guy who got it from a repo auction. the guy that ahd it repoed from him stole the fairings. so it was naked. no big deal ordered new fairings.
ive been working on troubleshooting a missfire and today just found out why. i figured my carbs werent synced so i bought the sync guage cluster thing. once i got down to the carbs they almost fell off the clamps werent tight. so i figured ide go ahead and clean them. found a few missing vaccume lines and one of the floats was full of fuel. so new floats are on the way! and working on finding the fittings for the vaccum problem.
PICTURES!!
the day i got it taking it around the neighborhood a few times
and working on it today
im looking to hang out on this forumn a lot ive browsed for a few weeks now and got a LOT of info thats helped me out. and a service manual lol.

Hey deedub , welcome to the CBRF mate ...
A project bike is a great way IMO to get started on your pocket rocket career!
You get to know the bike well before you roll any amount of road time on her ...
Sounds from your post that you have a fair knowledge of the basics and that is a ripper start, that most new guys have to work up too ...
nice pics too man !! although you are not smiling mate ??? lolol
thanks for sharing ...
Post up here when ever you get the urge ok .... this is a friendly place , so don't be shy in asking questions ...
take care and have fun working on her !!!

thanks for the warm welcome you guys! as soon as i get home from work friday ill start putting this back together. im still ordering parts though there is a lot of little thing wrong with it. some one spent a lot of time figuring out how to jerry rig this thing to run. for example vaccume lines missing fittings removed and plugged with woodscrews...who does that!?!?! and the choke lever actualor thing was bent so it was always half on. the idle adjuster was unscrewed....its never ending lol.
@CBRclassic thanks for the complements lol. im pretty mechanically inclined. my and my buddy hand built that mustang in the garage and we are rebuilding the trans on that 323i you can see in the driveway. and im a jet engine tech so i work on a lot of stuff :P
