Default Looking at buying

Hello all,

I am new here and have a few questions.

Long story short A guy I work with bought a 93 CBR600 F2 about a month ago well his friend that was teaching him how to ride wrecked his 900 CBR pretty bad and is still in ICU after two weeks. So now Melvin is selling the 600 he just bought.

It is a 93 with about 21,000 miles He has 2600 and change in the bike and wants $2600 for it. Just wondering what the worth of it is (I know condition plays a big part of it) and if there is anything I should look for when I take it out for a test ride.

Here is a link to a picture of it. It is not a good pic because it was taken with his camera phone.

By no means am I a beginner at riding I have been riding for over 10 years and currently have a Suzuki intruder 1500. All of my bikes have been V Twins... Yes even the so called sport bikes I have had.. LOL Just need to know with it not being a V twin what should I look for?

Thanks in advance for the help...

James
