Default Just bought a project bike

Sup guys? I just bought a F1 CBR 600. It needs a lot of work and it doesn't run. I plan on turning it into a street fighter with some time and research. I'm new to the scene as well. I'll be around searching for tips for sure! Some bad pics from my phone. I've got a few projects going on in the garage so it's messy.

Hi again. My name is Joe and I'm actually from Vancouver, B.C, Canada hehe. The bike in the background is an 05 suzuki gsx-r. It's almost finished. The fairings on it need to be touched up. Thanks for all the links.

My main concern was the condition of the frame and swing arms, and those were in really good condition. Also the status is good with no claims or rebuild.

The guy I bought the Hurricane from gave me a copy of the service manual. It actually needs a lot of work. Seems like there is a short some where. There is a spark from the pos. terminal of the battery when I push start. I'm going to trace each wire from the battery one at a time and re solder, heat shrink, according to the wire diagram. I'm not surprised as you can see from the hack job from the previous owner with only electrical tape and a wire twist. See pic below. Also, the relay switch after the battery is weird as you can see in the pic. It's reversed. It seems as though the previous owner didn't know how to wire properly so he had to reverse the relay.

I went out today and bought new proper fuses, since they were all 25 A instead of the factory recommended, a heat gun, heat shrink, royal purp. oil, K&N air/oil filter, new NGK spark plugs and fresh gas. I hope it can start. I'll post more pics as I progress.
