Default Intro and a couple questions.

Hello ladies and gents,
TigreST here with a short intro and a quick question (or six). First a bit about me. I'm married (late in life) and have a loving wife and two great kids, one of each flavor(that put up with my motorcycleand toy obsessions). I've been riding Honda's since 1982..started on two wheels with the CB-F series of machines from the early 1980'sand still have 4 of them. Two of them of which I'm the original owner of.One is a warmed over 1982-CB-750F (punched out to 836cc, cams, pipe, Dymags,HRC rotors,Calfab arm, Works Perf.shocks, 31mm CR-S carbs, Corbin seat) andthe second one a 1983 CB-1100F Canadian spec model(with a pipe andCorbin seat,..35mm FCR's sit in wait). There is also arestoration project, 1981 900F waiting it's turn under the wrenches. And last but not least a 1983 1100F project which is slatedfor a complete VFR suspension install and a 1123cc motor with ported head and cams,FCR carbs, Dyna ignition, stainless pipe.In 1990 I did a resto on a 1983 HarleyFXSB Lowrider. Yep,..say what you like about the ole' Harleys...but it puts a sh#t eating grim on my face if for noother reason then it being such a total departure from all things Honda related. I can stop people on the sidewalk when I go to kick start it...it's hoot to ride.
Last year I moved out of the 80's and purchased a 98 1100XX Super Blackbird, which in no small way has changed my riding life forever..or so it seems. A great sport touring package to say the least. Well as my mid life crisis fast approaches I've become enthralled with the looks of the07" CBR-1000RR-Repsol,..to the point that Inow own one. It does not currently take up space in my garage...but it will come July 1. I'm doing a fly-in-ride-home from Halifax with the RR.

Now the question/s,...before I depart Halifax I'll be installing a Throttle Meister cruise control on the bars. I need to know what type/style of fastenerholds thestock bar end weights on the bike..socket head,..Philips (asmy Blackbird has) or something different? Factory parts fiche description relates an "oval screw" of some type. Can you please relate any info on the type and size of tool I'll need to remove the factory bar end weights please? Second part of the question:...are there any specific fitment issues to installing the Throttle Meister set up....seems rather straight forward according to the supplied destructions...but thought I'd ask anyway and see what the members have to say in it's regard. O.k....onemore question.....what's the average mileage per fuel fill up I'd expect to get out of a 100% stock07' RR....just so I can plan theroute home and such. What kind of numbers are you getting as you hit reserve on the tank? Thanks guys and girls.

Tony

Default RE: Intro and a couple questions.

If I ride alot on the interstate, I will get up and over 145miles on my 06 1kRR. My regular driving turns my little light on at around 120-125 miles.

I like your comment about your Harley. After all- that grin is what it is all about.

Welcome to the forum!
