Default Hey from Sioux Falls SD

Hey guys nice forum you have here. I recently purchased a 88 cbr600f that I found on craigs list fairly cheep($500). It needs some cosmetic work but runs and rides great. I have ridden mostly dirt bikes up till now and have always wanted to get into a sport bike so this one fit the bill. I'll try to post a picture of it in a bit. I have ridden some of my friends sort bikes in the past and was amazed with how well this older bike performs and how easy it is to ride.

Thanks for the great forum,
David

Welcome aboard, David!
I agree that's a great price for what you got, especially since it runs (and good!)

Enjoy the forum, man, and Ride Safe!

thanks guys. I was out riding the other day and pulled up on a guy that was riding a 88 cane also but he had gone for the street fighter/naked bike look and I fugured it would not hurt to ask what he did with the fairings and he said that they were damaged but that I could have them if I wanted them. So I now have all the plastics except for the little piece that goes above the tail light.

That's cool, man! I mean, what are the odds? Ya don't see too many of these bikes cruising around. You may be able to plastic weld them (or epoxy them) and make them look ok.

I worked on the plastics most of the day yesterday and have the right side looking decent today I plan to get the left side(not damaged bad at all just scratched), upper, and the front fender ready to paint. I want to at least get the bike primered tonight if I can. Any advice on types of auto spray paint to use is welcome.
