Default fuel

hi, new to the group. Hoping to get some info on a problem. Have a 1998 cbr 6oo f3 in my garage that has a fuel delivery problem. Wondering if any techs are out there that can help. I have determined that the problem is from the kill switch. It will not send the signal to the fuel pump rely to energize the fuel pump. What is my best option other than replacing the switch itself. Can I jumper the rely connection or just eliminate the fuel pump and feed direct from the fuel tank. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Ducatidave

Welcome aboard! Jumping straight into the brain picking eh?

You can run a F3 gravity fed (sans pump) but there will be a performance cost. How bad prolly depends on the condition of your engine / carbs.

I'd poke into the F3 section where you're more likely to get more F3 riders' eyes on the topic. IDoDirt, the F3 section moderator, is the man to flag down on carb / fuel issues. Only thing I'd ask is, how sure are you that its the kill switch? And not say, the pump or the fuel cut off relay?

I have checked the fuel pump and cut off relay and both passed. Traced problem to kill switch. Not familiar with this web site. How do I navigate to the f3 section and find idodirt?

Just thought I would let anyone that is interested that I remedied the fuel problem. I resolved the issue by unplugging the fuel cut off relay and putting in a jumper wire to supply my 12 volt to the fuel pump. Bike runs as good as new without buying the new switch listed at $77.00. Hope if anyone else has the same problem this helps. ducatidave

So bypassing the fuel cut off relay did it?
