Smile Hello from Wappingers Falls, NY

Hello all,
I just got myself a CBR1000F Hurricane and I love it. I'm doing some work on it as i bought it from a friend who had it sitting for about a year. I did spark plugs change, oil and oil filter change, replace the fuel tube, add sea foam, and sprayed carb cleaner. I'm looking to do a coolant flush and cleaning with Honda Polish to ride it this weekend. This forum definitely helps. Thanks all in advance.

Welcome!
Congrats on picking up that bike. Sounds like you have a good start on it. You may want to change you brake fluid as well. Don't forget to look at the tires. Old rubber is dangerous....

Thanks for the welcoming 74demon!
I looked at the brake fluid and it looks good. Its level is between the low and high range, should I add more or do a flush? I'm new to bikes so if you know of a post here that i can follow to perform a brake fluid and coolant flush that would be great! I know this is the welcome area and not "How-to" section but i figured i would ask to a more seasonal rider than me! Thanks

Yes, flush it. Many do it once a year to get out the moisture that builds up in there.

There are many threads on brake bleeding and coolant flushing. Pull up a chair, open a cold one, and have a good read around the hurricane section.

Here's one on brake bleeding:

Thanks 74Devon! I will look at the thread on brake bleeding. I just had to take the intake today to put in a new fuel line so I will spray more carb cleaners in. I will do a coolant flush tomorrow after work. I was at my local motorcycle dealer and they told me to use prestone 50/50 but to make sure is aluminum safe. Would that work? Honda coolant will be about $40 plus tax if I buy from them. Ice engine would be the same price as Honda coolant.
